So I have planned baby showers before but never has one brought me so much joy as the one I just planned for my baby sister. When I found out she was pregnant not only was it so much joy for me to know that I was going to be previlaged with another niece or nephew but also that Jordan would now have a cousin a lil closer in age. Then we decided she needed to have a shower in Dodge for some of those who would not be able to travel the 4 hours to Topeka and so the planning began.
First it started with trying to find a invitaion, I am not a plan kind of person when it comes to creating things my whole heart goes into it expecially when it is for someone that I care so deeply for. So when I decided on the invite I was so excited. If I had all the nice equipment like a silouette cutter or a cricuit, a cuddlebug diecut cutter or many of the other that are out there (although would love a silouette as I have seen all the awesome work they can do) these would have been much easier to put together, but I had decided on it and they turned out so stinking cute.
So once the invites were done and sent out then the rest of the planning began, ok I had been planning at other times but main focus was invites until now. Luckily I had a wonderful 2nd lil sister who wanted to help and planned the game part for me, which was such a help since I am not as into the game part of showers. So I started getting ideas together for a diaper cake and as everyone knows I am so picky when it comes to things like this and I am very critical of my projects. I got everything together for the cake and only changed things 3 times, that is an accomplishment. In the end I liked the way it turned out although a few of the things I would have liked to as I could not figure out how to get them on the cake without ruining some diapers.
After all this was decided on all I had left was the gift, which I did not get a picture of. I found a diaper bag that perfectly matched the theme that my sis was going with and of course approved it with her and she loved it. I then stuffed it with all sorts of things, from blankets to pacifiers and other stuff that are needed in a diaper bag. We also made them a lil bit of artwork to hang in the babies room from his/her cousin Jordan and it turned out so cute, that I had to make me one as well otherwise I wouldn't have given it up!!
So these were the things that I did to make my sisters baby shower special for her, I had help doing alot of other stuff as well, my older sis did all the food for the shower and some dear friends of ours also helped cut food up and get items that were needed.
I have to say I am so excited for Amanda and Matt and I truly care deeply about both of them and it was such a pleasure to get to do this shower for them and spend time with them as well. I can't wait to meet my lil firecracker and see the joys on there faces when they welcome him/her to there family!!
